Dr. Megan Rashid is a critical care anesthesiologist who started at VCUHS in 2016. Since then, she has focused on postgraduate education and quality improvement. She co-developed a novel longitudinal point-of-care ultrasound curriculum that spans all four years of anesthesiology residency and currently serves as the Program Director for VCU’s Critical Care Anesthesiology fellowship. She is the Acute Kidney Injury Lead for the multidisciplinary perioperative Enhanced Recovery After Surgery initiative, aimed at decreasing mortality, rates of AKI, length of stay, and hospital costs for the institution. She has also been appointed the Medical Director of the Transplant ICU, where she works collaboratively with the Transplant Surgery and Surgical Trauma ICU divisions to implement change and improve outcomes for this challenging patient population.
